Discover the World: Welcome to Wandering with Joy

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be an artist. Growing up, I was always drawn to the arts and crafts sections of various retailers, flipping through sketchbooks and carefully choosing between packs of gel pens, bottles of acrylic paint, and sticks of charcoal. While my career aspirations have now shifted to the travel industry, my ambitions maintain that creative thread by incorporating the beauty and story elements of the visual arts into each aspect of my life. It’s no secret that aesthetics are a big deal when it comes to travel (hello, Instagram and Pinterest!), and being in a lovely place has been effective for me in renewing joy and inspiring a more generous worldview. Enabling others to go see the world by researching, planning, and managing a trip that meets their goals is an incredibly rewarding experience.

I focus on luxury arts and culture travel and, just like art, this comes in many forms. The joy and nostalgia of Disney destinations and Universal Studios, the comfort and variety of cruises, and the diversity and opportunity of European travel each make up a prong of this culturally enriching, memory-creating travel experience. Each of these require a significant amount of research if you really want to get the most out of being there, and time is a non-renewable resource! I get to put my travel nerdiness to good use by sourcing and booking exclusive tours for clients that allow them to maximize their time and deeply connect while in-destination. You don’t have time to wait in line! There is too much to see and engage with.

What does it mean to work with a travel advisor?

Since we are getting into the meat of how this works, here is what working with me looks like! First, pick a convenient time to book a call with me on my contact page. If you are comfortable with video calls, that is definitely my preference! It’s so much more effective for getting to know each other. Then, during that call, you get to tell me all about your travel goals, where you like to go, how you like to travel, and the details of who you may be traveling with this trip and when you want to get out there. Once we’ve discussed the scope of your trip, I’ll share the details of my professional fee. After that has been deposited, I start on your trip proposal. I curate the activities and accommodations for you to choose from, I tweak pieces as I get feedback from you, and when we are on the same page, I book your trip. Between booking and departure, I create a lovely itinerary for you to refer to during travel, ensure that you have all the necessary documents filled out, and direct you to fun resources that may be useful for your trip (i.e. you’re going to Italy and there is a wonderful Italian bakery in your hometown you can visit in anticipation of being there!). We’ll have a pre-trip call, I’ll check in with you briefly mid-trip, and when you get home, we can catch up on what you loved and what you would do differently next time.

No plans yet? No problem! You’re in the right place. By subscribing to my emails and following along on social media, you will stay inspired and informed all along the way. Social media can be a great platform to interact on, where you can tell me what you’ve found exciting lately! You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The emails? Those are where you’re notified of new posts, get additional travel inspiration, and where I will share any relevant specials my travel partners are offering. That’s an exclusive aspect you won’t want to miss out on!

An event to get on your radar…

Caspar David Friedrich's Two Men Contemplating the Moon. One man has his hand on his friend's shoulder. Both have their backs to us and are centered in the left third of the painting, gazing at a crescent moon in the distance. The moon is in the cent of the painting.

Speaking of not missing out on anything, I learned recently that the Met in New York is partnering with several German art institutions including the Hamburg Kunsthalle to host an exhibition of Caspar David Friedrich’s works. Lasting from February 8th to May 11th, 2025, this is an excellent opportunity to experience German Romanticism here in the States. Turn Friedrich’s incredible work into a multi-sensory experience by attending The Orchestra Now’s performance on April 13, 2025, featuring his works on-screen in the performance hall while the orchestra performs. Anyone else up for NYC in spring??

Thank you for joining me at Wandering with Joy! I’m excited to share this journey with you as we explore the world through the lens of art and culture. Together, we’ll unlock exclusive experiences that resonate with your creative spirit and enrich your understanding of the destinations you visit. Remember, inspiration is just around the corner—stay connected through my emails and social media for the latest updates, tips, and exciting travel opportunities. Here’s to your next adventure filled with beauty, creativity, and unforgettable memories!
