Travel Without Compromise

This week humbled me.

For years, I assumed escorted tours weren’t for me.

The concept brought to mind visions of travelers wearing matching headsets, being herded from one landmark to the next before climbing back onto a bus. It felt like the opposite of the thoughtful, immersive travel I value so much.

While those certainly do exist, the kind of escorted vacations I’ve become familiar with blend seamlessly into a destination’s landscape.

There are plenty of destinations where independent travel is just the right thing.
