Welcome back to Cruising into the Weekend!
With the Disney Destiny sailing its maiden voyage sometime around Thanksgiving, I can only imagine there will be some holiday-related celebrations in store. We will know soon, with bookings opening in less than a month — as early as September 6th!
When it comes to specialty theming, you can count on this company to excel! Not only can you explore cruising tuned to the holidays, there are also featured nights on board that cater to particular destinations and IP. For the holidays, you have Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime cruises. Let’s get into the details of each of these charming events!
Halloween on the High Seas
Halloween is forever battling Christmas in ranking as my favorite holiday, so it’s no wonder I get so excited about Halloween on the High Seas with Disney Cruise Line! These special cruises have a narrow timeframe starting in late-September and running through Halloween. Included in the festivities you can enjoy Mickey’s Mouse-querade, a variety of themed meet and greets, Halloween activities, and themed treats. Halloween on the High Seas is exclusive to Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries with durations of up-to 7 nights. While bookings are open for 2025, there is still availability for this fall!
Very Merrytime Cruises
If you add the wonder of Christmas to the magic of Disney, the results will be nothing short of stunning! With exclusivity mimicking Halloween on the High Seas, guests can enjoy Very Merrytime Cruises only in November and December, and only on Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries. Also with durations of up-to 7 nights, you will enjoy entertainment including a Tree Lighting Ceremony, Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party, meet and greets with characters in their holiday best, and sightings of Santa Clause. If you’re at all concerned about missing a white Christmas, fear not! On Disney’s Castaway Cay, their private island, snow flurries and holiday decorations will alay those feelings. Make the holiday season extra special with your own Very Merrytime Cruise this winter!
Marvel Day at Sea
Big fan of superheroes? How about sailing with over 30 of them and their villainous counterparts on a 5-night cruise through the Bahamas or Western Caribbean? Available singularly on those 5-night itineraries with both including stops at Disney’s Castaway Cay, the onboard antics cater to all ages. Get your photo with Spider-Man, marvel at the live show Strange Academy: A Spellbinding Spectacular, or even dress up as your favorite character, something not allowed in the theme parks. And that is only scratching the surface of the Marvel Day at Sea offerings! Departing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, these sailing occur during the first three months of the year. Perfect for a refreshing, entertaining getaway to stave off the post-holiday blues! Thanks for cruising into the weekend with me!
