Trip Planning: A Realistic Look

School’s back in session, so you have plenty of bandwidth to start planning that trip you’ve kept on the back burner!

…or is that not the case?

Maybe your attention is swallowed up by catching up on work projects, tackling home improvements, or simply navigating a new routine that changes how traffic flows in the mornings and afternoons.

However you spent your summer, chances are you don’t feel any less crunched for time now.

If this transition from summer to fall has you feeling like you’ve merely switched which hamster wheel you’re running on, let me take vacation planning off your plate.

Where to Start

You already know the value of traveling regularly. Whether you’re boarding a cruise so you only unpack once or heading somewhere new for a fresh perspective, travel offers so many benefits:

  • Shared experiences bring you closer to your travel companions.
  • Time away from daily responsibilities recharges you to keep moving forward.
  • New habits and perspectives from your travels can shape your everyday life long after you return.

From our very first conversation, I want to understand which of these matters most to you in your next trip. You may not know right away — that’s fine! That’s why we talk. My goal is to get to know you and what’s important to you, not just run your credit card for a cookie cutter trip.

After we’ve chatted, there are a couple of quick steps: signing off on terms & conditions and paying the planning fee. Once those are taken care of, the research begins.

And oh, the research.

Review all the Options 🔬

I’m fortunate to work under a highly reputable travel agency with strong relationships across the industry — hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, theme parks, destination management companies, and more. These connections mean I can tap into trusted partners, including many that only work through travel advisors and aren’t available to the public. I hope you find that last detail as exciting as I do!

It’s not unusual for me to create several proposals from these partners, compare them against your goals, and then present the options I’m most confident in.

And if I ever need an extra set of eyes, I have a network of 50 fellow experienced advisors ready to lend insight. Thank you, team. 🙏🏼

As I’m surveying your options, here’s a peek at what’s running through my mind:

  • Do they want the ease and access of a large tour, or the flexibility of going it alone?
  • Would a small group or private tour offer a better balance?
  • Which accommodations will be best located and suited to their style?
  • What experiences will make this trip both memorable and seamless?
  • How will they get from A to B — and is the travel time realistic?
  • Is this flight itinerary good… or could we do better?
  • Will they be comfortable with public transportation, or should I arrange private transfers?

And so on.

But you can go far! Let your trip include a walk on medieval walls like this one in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Get your trip underway!

In the weeks leading up to departure, you’ll get my “know before you go” emails — customized tips, packing suggestions, and destination details. You can also schedule a pre-trip call so you feel completely confident heading out the door.

Then, you’re off!

Your itinerary is in your pocket, complete with live flight updates. I’m just a call or text away for anything you need — whether it’s help solving a hiccup or sharing a too-good-not-to-text photo. And you’ve kept your routine intact, so stepping away (and returning home) feels smoother and less jarring.

If you already feel lighter knowing this is one less thing on your plate, now’s the time to block your next travel dates. The earlier we plan, the more options we have — and the less your future self will feel crunched for time.

Fall is full of wonderful moments. Let’s make sure one of them is your next adventure.
